Chris Quick

Chris Quick coached for 20 years at Palatine High School before co-founding Palatine Pack TFCC and Palatine Pack Timing in 2020.

During his tenure, the Palatine boys cross country team finished on the state podium five times, including the Class 3A state championship in 2011. He was elected to the ITCCCA Hall of Fame in 2025.

Chris lives in Palatine and teaches English at Palatine High School.

Alex Soto

Alex Soto co-founded Palatine Pack TFCC in 2020 after a successful tenure as boys assistant coach at Palatine High School.

He coaches at Winston Campus Middle School in Palatine, IL where he has coached numerous IESA state qualifiers in both cross country and track and field. In 2022, his 8th grade boys team placed 2nd in Class 4A track and field.

Mike Nigliaccio

Mike Nigliaccio co-founded Palatine Pack Timing in 2020 and has served on the Palatine Pack TFCC board since its inception. He also serves as lead timer/chief technical officer for Palatine Pack Timing.

He has been an assistant coach for both the boys cross country and track and field teams at Palatine High School. During his tenure, Palatine has placed in the top 10 of the Class 3A IHSA state meet three times. He also coached Jake LaRocca to the Class 3A pole vault state championship in 2015.

Chris Quick has been the business director of Palatine Pack TFCC since its founding in 2020. During his tenure, the club has grown from 25 athletes to more than 200 athletes per session in 2025.

In partnership with Palatine Pack Timing, he has spearheaded the creation of numerous local and affordable meets for youth and middle schoolers, including the No Frills summer race series and the Midwest Track and Field Championships.

Palatine Pack TFCC provides primary service to athletes in Palatine, Arlington Heights, Mt. Prospect, Lake Zurich, Barrington, and nearby suburbs.

Jeff Beaumont | North Shore Pack TFCC

Jeff Beaumont founded the North Shore Pack TFCC club in 2025.  A three-time IHSA state qualifier, he competed collegiately for Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.  As an adult, he has finished 10 marathons along with an Ironman triathlon.

Jeff is in his 29th year as a counselor at Deerfield High School and has coached the boys and girls cross country teams and the girls track and field team.  In cross country, three of his girls teams have qualified to the IHSA state championship plus an additional five individuals.  On the track, he has coached numerous state qualifiers including state and national champion Erika Odlaug.

North Shore Pack TFCC provides primary service to athletes in Lake Forest, Deerfield, Highland Park, Wilmette, Evanston, and nearby suburbs.

Carson Vittorio | Plainfield Pack TFCC

Carson Vittorio founded the Plainfield Pack TFCC club in 2025. Carson was a distance runner for Plainfield South High School and is currently an assistant distance/cross country coach at his alma mater. He works at Drauden Point Middle School in Plainfield.

Carson has coached at Minooka Junior High, Jones College Prep High School, and Plainfield South High School. During his time at Minooka Junior High his team took 7th in the IESA State meet. During his tenure at Jones and Plainfield South, athletes have secured 13 All-State Honors, three conference team championships, three Top 10 state track and field finishes, and 32 IHSA state qualifiers.

Plainfield Pack TFCC provides primary service to those in Plainfield, Joliet, Lockport, Oswego, Naperville, and nearby suburbs.

brenden mariano | fox valley Pack TFCC

Brenden Mariano founded the Fox Valley Pack TFCC club in 2026. Brenden ran distance for Schaumburg High School and North Central College and is currently an assistant coach for middle distance at his alma mater. He joins the Fox Valley Pack with 20+ years of coaching experience.

Previously he coached boys cross country and track and field at Hoffman Estates High School and girls cross country and track and field at Schaumburg High School. Accolades include an IHSA State Championship team, 5 individual state champions, a NCAA trophy Team, and 2 individual NCAA National Champions. In track and field, Coach Mariano has coached distance and throws.

Fox Valley Pack TFCC provides primary service to those in Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, Oswego, Naperville, St. Charles, Wheaton, and nearby suburbs.

LEAD COACHES

Alex Soto | Palatine Pack TFCC

Alex Soto has been the lead coach of Palatine Pack TFCC since its founding in 2020. Under his leadership, the club has grown to more than 200 athletes per session and serves everyone from emerging elites to beginners.

In cross country, Palatine Pack teams have placed on the USATF National podium seven times, including national championships in both 11-12 boys and 13-14 girls. He has led kids to 17 separate All-American honors.

In track and field, Alex’s willingness to collaborate with local middle school and high school coaches has facilitated an environment of excellence. Palatine Pack athletes have achieved countless IESA All-State honors for their middle school teams. Many have also gone on to successful IHSA careers.

Sam Brown | North Shore Pack TFCC

Sam Brown is a special education teacher at Deerfield High School where she has also coached girls track and field from 2009 to 2024, including seven years as head coach. Her focus is on sprints and relays.

A former track and field athlete at Deerfield, Sam was thrilled to return to her alma mater to both teach and coach. She attended college at Butler University, where she competed for one year on the track and field team, specializing in sprinting and jumping.

Sam’s coaching philosophy centers on “growing the game.” She is passionate about teaching athletes the ins and outs of track and field while fostering a love for the sport. She emphasizes creating a supportive community where athletes encourage one another while focusing on their personal goals and striving to reach their best.

Marcus Norment | Plainfield Pack TFCC

Marcus Norment has coached at Plainfield South with the boys track and field program throughout his 19 year career. He was a hurdler and jumper at Plainfield South High School before competing collegiately at College of DuPage, where he won an NJCAA National Championship in the 110 meter high hurdles.

During his tenure at Plainfield South, his athletes have won 26 IHSA All-State honors, four conference team championships, two IHSA Sectional team championships, and 85 IHSA State qualifiers. He coached the 2011 IHSA Class 3A state champions in the 4x400 meter relay.

Marcus oversees the track and field staff while serving as lead coach for hurdlers and jumpers and assistant coach for sprints.

Michelle Wicyk | Fox valley pack

Michelle Wicyk joins the Fox Valley Pack with 11+ years of coaching experience. She is currently the girls head cross country coach at Waubonsie Valley High School. Previously she was the head cross country and track and field Coach at Romeoville High School.

Coach Wicyk has coached numerous state qualifiers, 9 All-State athletes and recently led the Waubonsie Valley girls cross country team to their first ever IHSA State appearance. Coach Wicyk is an experienced health and physical education teacher at the high school level.

Each summer she offers a summer camp for cross country athletes in District 204. Recently Coach Wicyk restarted a youth track and field camp, previously led by Coach Rafferty. The camp has doubled in size in only two summers!

Dean Roehrborn | McHenry Track and Field Camp

Dean Roehrborn is a social studies teacher at McHenry Community High School, where he has served as an assistant coach for the cross country and girls track and field programs since 2021. His primary focus is working with distance athletes, though he has experience coaching sprints and field events as well. 

Dean developed his passion for running as a member of the cross country and track & field teams at Palatine High School under coaches Chris Quick and Alex Soto. He went on to attend Southeast Missouri State University, where he earned his degree in Social Studies Education before returning to the Chicagoland area to pursue both teaching and coaching.

Dean's coaching philosophy is centered around helping young athletes become the best version of themselves, both on and off the track. He encourages athletes to step outside of their comfort zones and embrace challenges while providing a supportive environment that promotes confidence.
